Dr Shibu Varghese is an Indian and South African educated and trained Specialist Orthopaedic, arthroplasty and arthroscopic Surgeon with fellowship training in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He has extensive experience in the field of Orthopaedic Surgery, Sports Medicine and with teaching.
He has worked with international sports teams like Kerala Blaster football club, as the Team Physician at the 2016 Indian Super League, with Cape Cobras Cricket team, South Africa throughout 2013-14, and continues to work with Asian football Confederation as a medical and Anti-doping officer. In the past he has worked with FIFA, English cricket county and Indian cricket as an Anti-doping officer.
In 2015, Dr Shibu was served as the National Games Anti-Doping Manager and member of medical committee held at Kerala providing care to athletes both pre-competition and for the duration of the games. He presently associated with Medeor Hospital, Abudhabi as Orthopedic sports surgeon, also serves as Chief medical officer of Abu Dhabi Saracens Rugby Club, Chief medical officer U.A.E Badminton and Member of U.A.E Rugby Medical Committee.
